Ideal Media takes a deep dive into the dark underbelly of the Mustang world, exposing the worst of the worst. First up is the Mustang Mach E, an electric SUV that has the audacity to call itself a Mustang. It may have the name and a fancy front fascia, but it lacks the true Mustang DNA. This impostor has no resemblance to the iconic pony cars of the past, with its four doors and lack of rear-wheel drive. Sure, they released a rally edition to try and redeem themselves, but it's just a feeble attempt to salvage their tarnished reputation.

Next on the chopping block is the sixth-generation Bullet Mustang. Now, I must admit, it's a good-looking car. But looks can be deceiving. Despite its iconic appearance, the 2019 Bullet Mustang falls short in terms of performance. It may have an extra 20 horsepower, but it still lags behind the regular GT. And with a hefty price tag, it's simply unacceptable for any true Mustang enthusiast. Sorry, but this Bullet missed the mark.

Let's not forget the 2000 Mustang GT Spring Feature Edition. With a name that long, you'd expect it to come with a laundry list of performance upgrades. But no, all you get are some cosmetic changes and a higher price tag. It's a poser package that does nothing to enhance the driving experience. Meanwhile, there were other special edition Mustangs during that time that blew this Spring Edition out of the water. It's a classic case of all show and no go.

The fifth-generation Mustang California Special also makes the list. While it may have a fancy name, it's essentially just a regular GT with some premium options and a higher price tag. The 2014 S550 Mustangs that followed were simply better in every way, leaving the California Special in the dust. It's a Mustang that you could easily replicate with parts from the internet. If you're looking for a show car, then maybe it's worth considering. But for performance, it's a disappointment.

Now, let's talk about the 1969 Mustang E. In a time when the Mustang's image was all about performance, Ford decided to release an economy version. It's like trying to sell a diet soda at a steakhouse. With a measly 155 horsepower and lackluster features, this Mustang E was a far cry from its powerful siblings. It's a shame that such an iconic year for the horsepower wars had to be tainted by this underpowered excuse for a Mustang.

Last but not least, we have the Mustang II. This car was a complete disaster. Choked on power, based on the Ford Pinto, and with a body that looked like a sad attempt at imitating a Monte Carlo, it was a low point for the Mustang. The engines were eco-friendly, but they lacked the power and performance that Mustang enthusiasts crave. Even the so-called special editions couldn't save this abomination. It's no wonder they sold like hotcakes during a time when American cars were suffering from emissions regulations and a gas crisis.

So there you have it, the worst of the worst Mustangs. These cars may have their own unique qualities, but when it comes to the true spirit of the Mustang, they fall short. They may have their fans, but for the true enthusiasts, these models are simply not up to par. Ford, you've had some great Mustangs over the years, but these ones missed the mark.
