The new BMW X2 is here to shake things up, aiming to redeem its predecessor's lackluster performance in the US market. With a focus on exterior, interior, and platform improvements, this SUV offers two trim levels: the 28 and the 35. The X2's bold design sets it apart from the crowd, sporting features like a distinctive front grill and optional 21-inch wheels that add a touch of flair. Inside, the cabin exudes luxury with customizable interiors, sporty seats, and premium materials that elevate the driving experience. However, while the X2 impresses with its spacious interior and user-friendly infotainment system, some connectivity issues have been reported, marring an otherwise stellar package.
Under the hood, the X2 in the US comes equipped with a b48 engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and on-demand all-wheel drive. The M packages offer additional performance upgrades, including M brakes and 21-inch wheels, enhancing the SUV's driving dynamics. Mechanically, the X2 focuses on reducing torque steer through front suspension enhancements and changes to the stability control system. The driving experience of the X2, especially in the M version, delivers quick acceleration and dynamic handling, although the dual-clutch transmission's performance may not satisfy hardcore enthusiasts. Overall, the X2 strikes a fine balance between sportiness and comfort, making it an enticing option for those seeking a stylish and engaging SUV experience.
