In this latest installment from the throtl team, they tackle their 300ZX project car with their usual mix of enthusiasm and mishaps. The episode kicks off with the obligatory task of moving the Civic out of the way, because let's face it, no project can begin without some sort of obstacle. Once that's sorted, they dive right into the main event: installing JDM tail lights. They believe that the clear with blue accents will elevate the car's aesthetic to new heights, surpassing the traditional smoked look. However, in a classic case of "oops," they manage to crack one of the tail lights during the installation. But fear not, they decide to keep it on for now until they can find a replacement.
The team then engages in a lively debate about whether to install a 326 power wing on the car. After much deliberation, they opt to leave it off, as they feel it would clash with the clean and understated stock appearance they're aiming for. Moving on, they tackle the front bumper, installing new bulb sockets and sleek black chrome bulbs. With the exterior upgrades in place, they shift their attention to the interior, specifically the gauge cluster. Out with the old and in with the new, as they swap the factory gauges for a Haltech ic7 digital display dash. They rave about the compact size and simplicity of the Haltech system, which offers a multitude of data points with just four wires.
Of course, no project is complete without some cleaning and repainting. They spruce up the interior parts and give the dash a fresh coat of paint. But just when things are going smoothly, disaster strikes again. They discover that the gas tank is in terrible condition and promptly toss it in the trash. However, they remain undeterred and eagerly await the arrival of their surprise delivery: new wheels for the 300ZX. The polished chrome beauties are a sight to behold, and the team wastes no time test fitting them on the car. With a hint of disappointment, they realize that adjustments to the camber are necessary to achieve the desired fitment. But fear not, they are determined to conquer this challenge and eagerly anticipate the moment when the car will finally be on the ground, showcasing its stunning new look.
