In this episode of Mighty Car Mods, the lads are tackling a rather peculiar Daihatsu project. They've gone all out, putting in a tremendous amount of effort in a short span of time. The engine has been given a thorough refresh, a new clutch has been installed, and they've even added an ECU system to gather valuable data for improving lap times. It's clear that they're determined to make this little car perform at its best.
Of course, no project is complete without the right oil, and they've opted for a robust 10W-60 oil to ensure maximum protection for the engine. They understand that pushing a small engine like this to its limits requires the utmost care and attention.
Next up, they dive into the interior, installing a secondhand seat and seat rails that were generously provided by a fan. They emphasize the importance of a properly set up seat for track driving, as it plays a crucial role in providing confidence and control behind the wheel.
But the modifications don't stop there. The team takes their attention to detail to the next level by incorporating technology into the car. They mount an iPad Mini, complete with a quadlock case, to track their lap times. This larger screen allows for better visibility and ease of use, ensuring they can keep a close eye on their performance.
To top it all off, they install a custom exhaust, adding a touch of aggression to the car's sound. And to monitor the car's vital signs, they add a range of sensors for engine protection, including oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel pressure. These sensors will provide crucial information to ensure the car is running optimally and to prevent any potential issues on the track.
Overall, the Mighty Car Mods team is thrilled with the progress they've made on this little Daihatsu. It may have started off as a smelly, neglected car, but with their dedication and expertise, it's shaping up to be a highly advanced and capable machine. Stay tuned for the next episode where they put it all to the test!
