In the latest installment from the Mat Armstrong channel, the team tackles the ongoing overheating issue plaguing their beloved Ferrari. After some thorough investigation, they discover a faulty thermostat and promptly replace it. However, much to their dismay, the car continues to overheat. Undeterred, they shift their focus to the water pump, testing its functionality. Good news, it's working just fine. With that ruled out, they turn their attention to the coolant fans, only to find that one of them is MIA. Aha! Could this be the culprit behind the overheating woes? The team suspects a faulty temperature switch and promptly orders a replacement. While waiting for the part to arrive, they keep themselves busy by replacing the thermostat housing and rebuilding the gear linkage. But here's the kicker - finding the necessary parts for the manual gearbox proves to be a Herculean task. It turns out that only a limited number of manual F430s were ever made, making the hunt for the required components akin to searching for a needle in a haystack. However, their perseverance pays off, and they manage to get the car into gear. But alas, not all gears are functioning properly, with only third and fourth cooperating. The team identifies a broken cable as the culprit and embarks on a quest to find a replacement. Fortunately, they strike gold and locate the elusive part, albeit at a hefty price. Meanwhile, they also give a shout-out to car vertical, a service that provides comprehensive car history checks to ensure potential buyers don't end up with a lemon. With the temperature switch still en route, they decide to vacuum fill the coolant system, hoping to eliminate any air locks. And guess what? It works! The Ferrari finally runs at the correct temperature, thanks to both fans now functioning as they should. With that hurdle overcome, the team shifts their focus to the aesthetics, installing the front and rear bumpers with precision. And just like that, the Ferrari is starting to look like a Ferrari once again. It's a triumph for the team, even if they've gone slightly over budget. But hey, who cares about budgets when you're dealing with a classic Italian stallion like this? The Mat Armstrong channel continues to provide us with the highs and lows of their Ferrari restoration journey, and we can't wait to see what's in store next.
