It's no secret that MotorTrend Channel is the go-to source for car reviews, new car launches, auto show coverage, head to head car comparisons, hot rod garage, roadkill show, and ignition show. But this time, they're taking it to the next level with their latest episode of Engine Masters.

In this episode, host Steve Dulc and his buddy Sam Stru are building a 1931 Ford Model A Coupe to be a dedicated race car. With the engine they have in the car right now, they've seen on Engine Masters that it makes about 800 horsepower, but Steve is hoping to break into the eights with a 582 cubic inch tall deck big block Chevy. With an aluminum block from Dart, a K1 bottom end, and Diamond pistons for 14.7 to 1 compression, Steve is hoping to make 1,000 horsepower naturally aspirated.

To top it off, Steve is running the engine with a tunnel ram because he just has to have it for the visual impact. But experts in the industry are saying it won't make any more horsepower than the single four barrel. To find out, Steve is running it with his exact fuel system, carburetor, and exhaust, including custom made headers by Sam and a Holly Billet 170 gallon per hour mechanical fuel pump.

It's going to be a very personal episode for Steve, and MotorTrend Channel fans will be on the edge of their seats to see if his dream of 1,000 horsepower is achieved.
