In this epic battle between two German powerhouses, carwow's Matt Watson and Bike World TV's Chris Northover go head-to-head in a drag race for the ages. On one side, we have the heavily tuned BMW M4 Competition, boasting an impressive 1,000 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque thanks to £35,000 worth of upgrades. On the other side, we have the BMW M1000RR, the M Sports version of their superbike, with carbon fiber wheels, bodywork, and a mean 212 horsepower.
The race takes place over the standing quarter mile, and the anticipation is palpable. The M4, with its launch control and all-wheel drive, seems like a formidable opponent. But the M1000RR, piloted by the fearless Chris, is not to be underestimated. In the first race, the M4 encounters a launch control issue, allowing the M1000RR to take the victory. However, the M4 comes back strong in the second race, with a flawless launch and takes the win.
But the excitement doesn't end there. Just when it seems like the M4 has secured its dominance, it suffers a misfire and goes into limp mode. The team quickly works their magic, fixing the issue and getting the M4 back on track. They decide to settle the score with a rolling race, and the M4 once again proves its superiority, leaving the M1000RR in its dust.
To add insult to injury, they even perform a brake test, and the M4 outperforms the M1000RR, showcasing its impressive stopping power. Despite some technical hiccups along the way, the M4 emerges as the true champion of this battle. Its upgrades and sheer power make it a force to be reckoned with on the drag strip. The M1000RR, while a formidable bike in its own right, simply couldn't match the might of the tuned M4.
