TheSmokingTire is back with another one of their signature one take reviews, this time of the all-new Toyota GR 86 Cup. This car is a race car built by Toyota’s TRD team in North America, and it’s based on the production 86 with a stock engine and 228 horsepower. It has a full cage, fuel cell, six-speed sequential gearbox, Bosch ABS engine management, and traction control. Plus, it has air conditioning! It’s a great car for a one-make racing series, and it will cost you $125,000 out the door.
TheSmokingTire put the car to the test with a three lap review, and they were impressed with the performance. The car has a clutch pedal to get going, and then no clutch after that. It also has a reprogrammed power steering system, a front splitter, and a real wing. Plus, it has Alcon four piston front brakes and two piston rear brakes with bigger rotors.
