In this build episode from the world of DailyDrivenExotics, the team is back with some exciting updates on their car build. With just 61 days remaining until a high-stakes event, the pressure is on as they head over to d-sport for a much-anticipated update. The suspense is palpable as they eagerly await the news, hoping for a positive outcome.
But before they can fully celebrate, there's work to be done. The team dives right into fixing the aftermath of a seat fit gone wrong. Damon's enthusiastic jump into the car resulted in a broken tube, but fear not, they have a solution. They decide to swap out the aftermarket throttle pedal for the trusty stock pedal, which fits better and allows for more travel.
With the pedal assembly sorted, the focus shifts to the roll cage fabrication. A crucial tube, known as the header, is meticulously crafted to tie the bars together and ensure maximum strength in the event of a rollover. Precision is key as they measure, notch, and bend the tube, aiming for a perfect fit. Safety is paramount, and they're leaving no room for error.
As the build progresses, the team showcases their innovative camera mounting system. The insta360 X3 camera, paired with a triple suction cup vehicle mounting system, captures mind-blowing footage from unique perspectives. It's a game-changer, providing a whole new level of excitement for their car content.
But amidst the excitement, there's still the matter of the fuel cell placement. They discuss the importance of finding the right location and the challenges of ordering a custom fuel cell within their tight timeline. The clock is ticking, and they need to secure this crucial component as soon as possible.
With the roll cage taking shape and the fuel cell quandary in mind, the team is determined to push forward. There's still work to be done, including the installation of the diagonal bar and harness bar. And who knows, they might even add gussets and tubes through the front firewall for added strength.
