The Audi Q8 e-tron has undergone a rebranding, just like carwow's website. But let's not waste time talking about that, because we're here to discuss the car itself. The exterior of the Q8 e-tron features some snazzy LED lights and new alloy wheel designs. It's a good-looking car, no doubt about it. But what's inside? Well, not much has changed, to be honest. Audi claims they've added a few new trims and inlays, but it's hard to notice any major differences. The build quality is top-notch, as you'd expect from an Audi. Everything feels expensive, except for the manual steering wheel adjustment, which seems out of place in a car of this caliber.
Moving on to the infotainment system, it's fairly logical and easy to use. The graphics are a bit dark, but that's a minor quibble. The real highlight is the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which means you can plug in your phone and enjoy seamless connectivity without any pesky wires. The digital driver's display is also impressive, with clear visuals and customizable views. In terms of storage, there are a few handy compartments, including wireless charging, a spacious glove box, and generous door bins. However, I must express my disappointment that they didn't include USB-C ports in the back. It's 2022, for heaven's sake!
Now, let's talk about the practicality of the Q8 e-tron. The rear seats offer plenty of space for passengers, with ample knee and headroom. Even with the sloping roofline, taller individuals won't have any issues. However, fitting three adults in the back might be a tight squeeze, and the protruding bit for the climate control can be a real shin-basher. On the bright side, installing a baby seat is a breeze, thanks to the easily accessible Isofix anchor points. There's also a nifty armrest with hidden cup holders, although I must mention my disappointment that there are no cup holders in the door bins. Come on, Audi, that's just basic stuff!
When it comes to the boot, the Q8 e-tron offers decent storage space. However, the sportback version has slightly less capacity due to its sloping tailgate. The loading lip can be a bit of a hassle, and removing the rear seats requires some extra effort. But hey, at least there's some extra storage under the boot floor. Overall, the Q8 e-tron is a comfortable and practical car, with a few minor quirks that could have been easily addressed. It's not perfect, but then again, what car is?
