In this video by TheStraightPipes, Yuri and Jacob take us for a spin in the 2024 Maserati Grand Turismo Modena. Now, this isn't the top trim Trofeo or the electric MC20, but it's still a stunningly gorgeous machine. With its updated front and back, matching the new corporate look of Maserati, it's hard to find fault with the design. The 75th Anniversary trim, with its eye-catching paint and red accents, is particularly breathtaking.
Under the hood, we find a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 483 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. While it may not have the V8 power of the older Gran Turismo models, it still sounds pretty good for a six-cylinder. The engine is a tuned version of the Nettuno engine found in the MC20 and Trofeo, showing Maserati's commitment to using this powerplant across their lineup.
Inside, the Gran Turismo offers comfortable seats, although they could be a bit firmer. The dashboard materials are top-notch, with gloss carbon fiber accents adding a touch of luxury. The infotainment system includes features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Santa Faber sound system delivers excellent audio quality.
On the road, the Gran Turismo provides a smooth and comfortable ride, perfect for long-distance touring. The all-wheel drive system ensures excellent traction, and the ZF 8-speed transmission shifts smoothly. While it may not be the fastest car out there, it strikes a perfect balance between grand touring and speed.
With a starting price of $222,500 CAD, the Gran Turismo Modena is undeniably expensive. However, for those who can afford it, this Maserati offers a unique blend of style, comfort, and performance. It may not have the V8 roar of its predecessors, but it still manages to captivate with its stunning design and refined driving experience.
