Welcome to a new video series on Savagegeese, where we delve into the long-term ownership of the 2024 Honda Pilot. Now, I've been in the three-row game for quite some time, using these vehicles as workhorses and family haulers. And let me tell you, the demand for SUVs, especially three-row ones, is skyrocketing. The competition is fierce, and these vehicles have come a long way. But here's the thing: I wanted to bring a dose of reality to the table. You see, on the internet, with all those influencers and their fancy lifestyles, it's easy to feel left out if you're not swimming in cash. But that's not the reality for most people. So, let's get real.

Now, picture this: I present you with two vehicles, and I ask you which one you'd rather be driving. Nine times out of ten, people would choose the BMW. And I can't blame them. It's one of the best driving SUVs on the planet, with its V8 engine, luxurious ride quality, and a plethora of features. But here's the kicker: there's a world of difference between wanting to drive it and actually owning it. You see, I made a mistake, a big one, when I bought a used BMW. And let me tell you, the depreciation on these luxury vehicles is staggering. In just a few years, my BMW went from being worth $122,000 to a mere $48,000. That's a $70,000 drop! It goes to show that despite all the technology and driving pleasure, these luxury machines can quickly become a financial burden. And that's where the Honda Pilot comes in.

Now, I didn't buy the Pilot brand new, but let me tell you, it represents one of the smartest decisions I've ever made when it comes to buying a vehicle. Sure, it may not have the same wow factor as the BMW, but it excels in the areas that truly matter. The Pilot is a no-nonsense, utilitarian SUV that gets the job done without breaking the bank. It may not have all the fancy bells and whistles, but it's reliable, easy to maintain, and offers a comfortable and functional interior. Honda has nailed the basics, from the well-designed door panels with ample storage space to the intuitive controls and comfortable seats. And let's not forget about the practicality of the Pilot. It has plenty of cargo space, and the removal of the center armrest allows for easy access to the back seats. It's a vehicle that understands the needs of everyday life, and that's something to be appreciated.

So, here's the bottom line: luxury vehicles may have their allure, but when it comes down to it, the Honda Pilot delivers where it counts. It may not have the same power or prestige, but it offers a practical and reliable driving experience that won't leave you bankrupt. In a world where technology is advancing at lightning speed, it's refreshing to see a vehicle that focuses on the essentials and doesn't overcomplicate things. The Pilot may not be the flashiest choice, but it's a smart one. And that's why, in this series, we'll be exploring the long-term ownership of the Honda Pilot, because sometimes, it's the unassuming heroes that deserve our attention.

Mini Countryman Review: Pricing, Features, and Performance Analysis

Savagegeese reviews the Mini Countryman, starting at $38,000. The John Cooper Works model, priced over $52,000, offers more power and unique features. Despite its customizable exterior and interior, the car falls short in practicality. Issues include a reflective plexiglass HUD, a laggy infotainment system, and a rough stop-start mechanism. The Mini Countryman JCW, a larger SUV, shares similarities with BMW X1/X2. The JCW variant boasts optimized engine components, wider wheels, and enhanced braking. During the test drive, the team praises the car's power and all-wheel-drive performance but criticizes its narrow power band and abrupt stop-start system. Despite lacking adaptive dampers, the Mini Countryman JCW impresses with its engine and handling. The car's unique character and customization options may appeal to those seeking a distinctive SUV experience.
