In this episode of DailyDrivenExotics, the team is embarking on a mission to bring Tim's car into the future. You see, his car is so 2023, and it's time for an upgrade. They are ditching the airbag suspension and going back to the roots with some real JDM coilovers. These coilovers are no ordinary ones, they are the basic Z's or Flexx Z's, nothing too fancy, but they'll do the job.
But before they can install the coilovers, they need to weigh the car. The team estimates it to be around 3,000 lbs, but they want to see if their estimation is correct. Once the car is on the scales, they find out that it weighs 2,900 lbs, pretty close to their guess. With the weight confirmed, they can now move on to the main event.
Installing the coilovers proves to be a bit of a challenge. The team encounters some clearance issues and worn-out parts, but they are determined to make it work. They make adjustments to the camber, drill pilot holes, and even slot the holes to allow for more adjustability. It's a process that requires patience and skill, but they are up for the challenge.
Throughout the installation, they discover some interesting modifications that have been done to the car by previous owners. From a wood mounting plate to a fuel pump outlet, it's clear that this car has had its fair share of DIY upgrades. But the team takes it all in stride and continues to work on getting the coilovers properly installed.
In the end, the team is excited about the improvements they've made to the car. With the new coilovers, the car will not only look better but also handle better on the road. It's a step in the right direction for Tim's car, bringing it one step closer to being a true driving machine.
