The Demon 170, the fastest production car in the world, is the star of Vehicle Virgins' latest video. With a mind-boggling 0 to 60 time of 1.66 seconds, it leaves the Tesla Plaid and multi-million dollar hypercars in the dust. But can it achieve that time on the street, or was it just a lucky fluke? That's what the guys at Vehicle Virgins set out to test.

Under the hood, the Demon 170 boasts a beastly 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine, pumping out a staggering 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque. It's not just a souped-up Demon engine with some tweaks; it features upgraded components like Pistons and rods, as well as a new 3L supercharger to handle the immense power. But can it deliver on the claimed 0 to 60 time?

The team puts the Demon 170 through a series of launch controls to find out. Despite the fantastic job done by the traction control system in mitigating wheel spin, the best 0 to 60 time achieved on the street is 3.3 seconds, almost double the claimed time. It becomes clear that achieving the lightning-fast 1.66-second time would require perfect conditions, a fully prepped drag strip, and some serious skill.

The Demon 170 runs on E85 fuel, which boosts its power to 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque. This raises an interesting question: can you compare its speed to other street cars running on regular gasoline? The team debates this, as the Demon's Flex Fuel technology allows it to adjust to different fuel mixes. While running on E85 provides the most power, the car can still perform on 91 or 93 gasoline.

In addition to its incredible performance, the Demon 170 comes with some unique features. It has a factory option for a parachute, as it is technically illegal without one when running under a 9-second quarter-mile or over 150 mph. Surprisingly, the car comes with only one seat, and you have to pay an extra $2,000 for the passenger and rear seats. Another interesting option is the sunroof, which costs a whopping $10,000. Dodge justifies this by explaining that they lose money on the carbon fiber wheels, which are a $1,500 option.

Overall, the Demon 170 impresses with its mind-blowing acceleration and power. While achieving the claimed 1.66-second 0 to 60 time may be challenging on the street, it still offers an exhilarating driving experience. With its limited production and high demand, getting one at the base price of $96,666 is no easy feat. But for those lucky enough to own this beast, it's an absolute thrill to drive.
