Today's video is brought to you by the beloved AeroPress, the coffee maker that has stolen my heart for over a decade. But enough about that, because we're here to talk about the Mustang Dark Horse. Now, this beast may look similar to the GT, but let me tell you, it's the subtle differences that make all the difference.
First things first, this car is heavy. I mean, seriously heavy. It's big and it feels big, which means you better strap on some meaty front tires and embrace the negative camber if you want to handle this beast. And let's not forget about the optional handling pack, with stiffer springs, traor tires, and a bunch of chassis bracing. It's like the Dark Horse is preparing for battle.
Now, when it comes to the ride, the Magnetic Ride shocks do a decent job in normal mode. It's comfortable and the body control is on point. But when the road gets bumpy, well, let's just say it's like being on a rollercoaster. The lack of steering feel doesn't help either. It's all negative, negative, negative. I've driven racing simulators with better steering feel than this.
But don't let that discourage you, because when it comes to performance, the Dark Horse delivers. The engine is a gem, with a linear power delivery and a refined European-style feel. Paired with the gearbox, it's a match made in heaven. And let's not forget about those big Brembo brakes, providing great stopping power.
On the track, the Dark Horse truly shines. It's agile, grippy, and has all the necessary reinforcements to handle the demands of spirited driving. The customizable gauges on the center screen are a nice touch, allowing you to keep an eye on all the vital stats of the car. But let's not forget, this is still a big car, and on narrow canyon roads, it feels like a battleship.
In conclusion, the Mustang Dark Horse is a fantastic track-ready Mustang. It may not have the same specialness as the GT350, but it's a solid performer with great handling, powerful brakes, and all the necessary upgrades for a thrilling driving experience. However, its size and lack of steering feel may not be for everyone. So, if you're in the market for a Mustang that can tear up the track, the Dark Horse is definitely worth considering.
