In this video from the Larry Chen channel, the team takes us on a wild ride through the world of drift racing. They showcase Darren 'D-Mac' McNamara's modified S13 drift car, a true beast on the track. With a unique engine setup featuring a 180° crossover manifold, this car emits a sound that is unlike anything you've ever heard. It's a symphony of power and performance.
But it's not just about the engine. DMAC's team also discusses the challenges they face when driving on regulation tires during the LZ World Tour. They had to borrow tires and find the perfect balance to conquer the wet conditions. And boy, did they conquer! Well, most of the time. They admit to a mishap involving a popped tire during a run, but hey, it's all part of the thrill.
The car's design is a sight to behold. The hood features unique headlights that rise up from the bumper, giving it a futuristic and aggressive look. And let's not forget about the impressive spoiler game. The team loves their spoilers, and they've gone all out with this one. Two GT wings and a shark fin design on the roof make this car stand out from the crowd.
Under the hood, there's more to discover. The team reveals the GM power steering pump and the oil cooler located in the front bumper. They've even gone the extra mile to ensure the car's cooling system is top-notch, with two Honda Civic Mishi Moto radiators mounted in a V shape. And let's not forget about the electric water pump, a smart choice that eliminates the need for belt-driven components.
Inside the car, there's a molded foam seat that perfectly fits the driver's body, providing both comfort and support during those intense drift sessions. And speaking of drifting, the team explains the purpose of the left-hand drive setup. It turns out that it was originally a rental car, driven by various individuals, which explains the left-hand drive configuration. But fear not, as the driver has adapted to it and finds no difference in performance.
