In this episode from the throtl channel, the guys tackle the f8 M3, a car with a lot of potential but some glaring issues. The first problem they address is the wheel and tire package, which is simply not up to par. The tires are too small and lack the necessary grip for the car's power. But fear not, they have a solution in the form of the RT 660s by Falcon Tire, which are R compound Street Tires that will provide the much-needed traction. And let's not forget about the aesthetics, because these new wheels are going to make the M3 look absolutely stunning.
Now, onto the main event - mounting the wheel and tire package. They explain the process using a simple piece of wire to demonstrate the bead pack of the tire and how it fits onto the wheel. It's a bit of a magic trick, but it all comes down to utilizing the drop center of the wheel to create a smaller diameter circle that can be fitted onto the larger diameter wheel. With some lubrication and careful maneuvering, they successfully mount the new wheels and tires.
But the work doesn't stop there. Next up is the suspension, and they opt for the KW ride height adjustable lowering spring kit. This kit allows them to maintain the factory adjustable suspension while achieving the desired ride height. They demonstrate the installation process, replacing the old components with the new ones. However, they encounter a small hiccup when they mistakenly install the spring perch on the bottom instead of the top. But they quickly realize the error and rectify it, ensuring everything is properly set up.
With the new wheels, tires, and suspension in place, they lower the car and marvel at the transformation. The f8 M3 now looks mean and aggressive, ready to take on the road with improved performance and style. It's a job well done by the throtl team, showcasing their expertise and passion for all things automotive.
