Throtl, the channel known for their car trading adventures, is embarking on a new mission: to trade up their humble $1,000 BMW for a glorious Ferrari. These guys have built some impressive cars in the past, from the iconic Supra to the legendary NSX, but now they're setting their sights on the ultimate symbol of automotive excellence - the Ferrari.
But before they can get their hands on the prancing horse, they have to deal with their current acquisition, the BMW 330 CI. And let me tell you, this Bimmer is in a sorry state. It runs like a sick dog, leaks fluids like a sieve, and the paint and body have seen better days. But these guys are not ones to back down from a challenge.
They start by diagnosing the engine issues and find a slew of misfire codes. Upon inspection, they discover a massive hole in the intake boot, causing a lean condition. With a new boot in place, they move on to fixing coolant leaks and replacing the valve cover gasket, which is drenched in oil. They clean the engine bay, bringing back its former glory, and tackle other cosmetic issues like sanding and polishing the headlights.
With the BMW looking fresh and rejuvenated, they sell it for a cool $11,200, bringing them one step closer to their dream Ferrari. But there's no time to waste, as they quickly move on to their next trade - a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8. This Evo, however, is not in the best shape either. It suffers from air suspension problems, engine issues, and a general lack of care.
Undeterred, they roll up their sleeves and get to work. They clean spark plugs, fix vacuum leaks, and send the fuel injectors for a thorough cleaning. They replace the valve cover gasket and give it a fresh coat of silver paint, making it shine like new. The car undergoes a meticulous detailing process, from sanding and buffing the paint to cleaning the interior.
Finally, after a series of upgrades and repairs, the Evo is transformed into a stunning machine. The suspension is upgraded with BC Racing coilovers, the calipers are painted, and new wheels and tires are installed. The headlights are restored to their former glory, and the car receives a final detail to make it shine. With the Evo complete and ready for its next adventure, Throtl is one step closer to their ultimate goal - acquiring a Ferrari.
