In this thrilling episode from the M539 Restorations channel, the team takes on the challenge of transforming Project Cologne, an E46 330i, into a track-ready beast. With their sights set on ultimate performance, they dive headfirst into the rear subframe reassembly, utilizing solid Alo bushings to enhance handling and eliminate any unwanted movement. This means improved response and a tighter rear suspension geometry, ensuring that every corner is conquered with precision.
But the team doesn't stop there. They tackle the fuel system, replacing the rubber lines and upgrading the fuel pump with a brand new OE Continental unit. Preventive maintenance is key, and they spare no expense in ensuring that this car is ready to tackle any challenge that comes its way. With the fuel tank back in place, they turn their attention to the differential, opting for stock bushings to strike the perfect balance between performance and comfort.
Suspension upgrades are next on the agenda, and the team doesn't hold back. They install Bilstein B16 PSS10 coilovers, allowing for adjustable ride height and stiffness. This means they can fine-tune the car's behavior to suit any driving condition, from a leisurely cruise to a full-throttle track assault. And to further improve handling, they add Beamer World's CNC-machined Billet Aluminium Street SL track camber arms, providing increased camber adjustment and long-term durability.
With the rear end sorted, it's time to move on to the front. The team installs ground control camber plates and replaces the front shocks with brand new units. The goal is simple: to create a car that not only looks the part but also performs like a true track warrior. And with every component carefully selected and installed, it's clear that Project Cologne is well on its way to becoming a force to be reckoned with on the track.
