On the latest episode of Mr JWW, we dive into the world of extreme car makeovers with SSR's jaw-dropping transformation of a GT4 RS. The team at SSR tackled the GT4 RS's understeer issues head-on by implementing a series of aerodynamic enhancements. From a wider splitter to redesigned underfloor and dive planes, they aimed to boost downforce to a whopping 200 kilos at 200 kph. Drawing inspiration from their experience with race cars like the GT3 RS, SSR integrated innovative aerodynamic elements to optimize performance on the track.
But SSR didn't stop there - they also fine-tuned the suspension to handle the increased aerodynamic loads while maintaining a comfortable and smooth ride. Additionally, the team customized the car with lighter rims, a new exhaust manifold for added power and a more aggressive sound, and a one-piece carbon fiber wing to further enhance downforce. Their collaboration with KW to develop a bespoke suspension setup tailored to the car's aerodynamics highlights their commitment to achieving peak performance.
In a bold move, SSR introduced the limited edition 992 Turbo GT model, boasting full carbon fiber construction, an adjustable diffuser, and a fixed wing for reduced weight and improved aerodynamic efficiency. This unique model offers a blend of high downforce for track prowess and low drag for blistering top speeds, showcasing versatility and performance in one package. With impressive acceleration and handling gains compared to the standard Turbo S, the SSR GT project proves to be a force to be reckoned with on both the road and the track.
