Today's episode of 1320video takes us to the iconic Bandimere Speedway in the heart of the Rocky Mountains for day three of racing at Rocky Mountain Race Week. This is a bittersweet occasion, as it's one of the last times we'll witness the thunderous roar of engines echoing through these mountains. The track is set to close at the end of the year, making way for a new one near the Denver Airport. But for now, we have the privilege of experiencing the thrill of racing in this breathtaking location.
The journey to Bandimere Speedway has been no easy feat for these dedicated racers. They've traveled hundreds of miles, enduring thunderstorms and even ending up in ditches with trailers flipped over. But their determination knows no bounds, and they've made it here to showcase their skills on the track.
Elevation is a major factor at Bandimere Speedway, situated at just under 6,000 feet. This poses a unique challenge for the racers, as they have to adjust their setups to compensate for the thinner air. Some struggle to build boost, while others have to find creative solutions to keep their cars running smoothly. But despite the hurdles, the racers are giving it their all, pushing their machines to the limit and leaving nothing on the table.
One standout racer is currently leading the pack with his Meltdown Fiverr, setting the bar high for the competition. Another racer, Bernie, impresses with his sick diesel truck, a 1949 Chevrolet Cummins with compound turbos. And let's not forget about the Canadian duo, Guido and Chuck Norris, who have driven all the way from Canada to compete. They've faced their fair share of challenges, with head gasket replacements and last-minute fixes, but they're determined to make their mark on the track.
As the day unfolds, we witness the sheer dedication and passion of these racers. They're not just here to race, but to overcome obstacles, push the boundaries of their machines, and leave a lasting impression on this legendary track. Bandimere Speedway may be closing its doors, but the memories created here will live on forever in the hearts of these racers and fans alike.
