The all-new, all-electric Honda Prologue has arrived, and it's time to take a closer look with TheStraightPipes. This SUV packs a punch with 288 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque from its two electric motors and 85 kW battery. While the Canadian version comes with all-wheel drive as standard, our friends across the border in America get a front-wheel drive model with more range. It's a shame we don't get that option here in Canada.
Now, let's talk about the design. The Prologue is based on the Chevy Blazer EV, but Honda has put their own spin on it. They've managed to make it look distinctly Honda, with a low, sleek profile that fits right into their lineup. The color choices are on point too, with a stunning teal available in the US and a vibrant red for Canada. Come on, Canada, we want that teal too!
Moving on to the features, the Prologue doesn't disappoint. It has fast charging capabilities, reaching up to 155 kW. In terms of range, the American version can go up to 300 miles, while the Canadian version offers up to 450 km. That's plenty of distance to go on your electric adventures.
Inside the Prologue, you'll find a spacious cabin with plenty of room for passengers and cargo. The seats are comfortable, and the materials used are of high quality. However, it's hard to ignore the similarities between the Prologue's interior and that of GM vehicles. It seems like Honda took some inspiration from their American counterparts, but hey, if it works, it works.
When it comes to the price, the Prologue starts in the high $40,000s in the US and the mid $60,000s in Canada. Considering the size and capabilities of this electric SUV, it seems like a reasonable price to pay.
Overall, the Honda Prologue is an exciting addition to the electric SUV market. It offers impressive performance, a stylish design, and a range that can take you wherever you need to go. While it may share some similarities with GM vehicles, it still manages to capture that distinct Honda essence. So, if you're in the market for an electric SUV, keep an eye out for the Prologue when it hits the streets next year.
