Welcome to the LZ compound, a 30-acre facility that Adam LZ was fortunate enough to acquire. This place is a concrete paradise, with almost $2 million worth of the stuff already in place. In this video, Adam takes us on a tour of the compound, showcasing the recent modifications he made to enhance the drifting experience.
The main objective of these modifications was to create a dedicated drifting area away from the hustle and bustle of the compound's main entrance. Adam used an overhead image of the compound to map out the areas he wanted to modify, and the results are impressive. He expanded the skid pad, turning it into a spacious playground for drifting enthusiasts. He also added additional areas to create a figure 8 layout, increasing the excitement and challenge of the drifting experience.
But it's not just about the skid pad. Adam also made improvements to the ponds, widening them to accommodate the added concrete. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also improves water drainage, ensuring that rain doesn't become an issue. He even added a banked concrete corner around one of the ponds, replacing a dangerous curb that posed a risk to drivers. Safety first, after all.
Adam's attention to detail is evident throughout the modifications. He carefully considered the balance between creating a racetrack-like environment and preserving the natural ambiance of the compound. He even contemplates adding a racetrack-themed design around the pond, but wants to ensure it doesn't detract from the overall atmosphere.
