The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e is Lexus's first ever fully electric vehicle, and it's a small luxury crossover that's going up against the Tesla Model Y, the Genesis GV60, the Audi Q4 e-tron, and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Today, Doug DeMuro is going to review the new Lexus RZ and show you all of its quirks and features.
The RZ has two trim levels available, the base model which they call the Premium that starts around sixty thousand dollars, or you can upgrade to the top of the line Luxury that's this car starts around 65,000. The RZ is based on the Toyota BZ4X and the Subaru Soltera, but there are some significant differences. It comes standard with dual motor all-wheel drive and more power.
The RZ450e has an electric range of 220 miles on a single electric charge, which is not impressive compared to its competitors. The Tesla Model Y has an electric range of 330 miles, the Ford Mustang Mach E has a 312 mile range, and the Genesis GV60s range by 250 miles. The Lexus RZ does have one benefit over its competitors, however, which is styling. It may not be the most beautiful vehicle in the segment, but it certainly looks better than the BZ4X and the Soltera. Doug DeMuro's comprehensive car review of the Lexus RZ450e will give you all the information you need to make an informed decision when it comes to car buying advice.

Others are more impressed with the design, noting that the inverted grill is a clever touch. Some have also pointed out that the UX300e is already available in Europe, and that the RZ is Lexus's first EV for the North American market.
The discussion has also touched on the affordability of EVs, with some believing that hybrids and PHEVs are the more logical choice for the foreseeable future. Others have commented on the styling of the car, with some finding the wheel wells to be a bit of an eyesore.
