DDE is back at it again, this time tackling a tricky problem that many supercar owners face: fitting a roll cage into a tight space. Damon, the owner of the car, is tall, and the roof line is low, so the team had to get creative. They cut the floor out and made custom seat brackets to drop the seat all the way down to the floor. But even with the seat in the best position for Damon, the main hoop was still too close to his head. To solve this, they cut out a huge section of the upper frame and pushed the main hoop back as far as they could. They also installed a set of Sparco carbon Kevlar seats.
The team then faced another issue: the main hoop was still too close to Damon’s head. To solve this, they had to cut more out of the frame and move the seat forward. To make sure the seat was in line with the main hoop, they added roll bar padding. This padding adds an inch of thickness, and with Damon’s height, his head would be pushed sideways and down if he was in the car. To solve this, they used a four and a half inch grinder and discs for cutting aluminum.
The team at DDE has once again gone above and beyond to make sure that their cars are safe and comfortable. They’ve taken on a tricky problem and come up with a creative solution that will keep Damon safe and secure while he’s out on the road. From exotic car adventures to luxury drives and car meets, DDE is always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the automotive world.
