In this latest update from the DailyDrivenExotics crew, we dive into the heart of their F12 build. It's been a month since their last video, but don't think for a second that they've been slacking off. No, no, my friends, they've been hard at work, tackling the beast that is the F12. And let me tell you, they've got some serious upgrades in store.
First up on the list are the headers. Now, these aren't your run-of-the-mill headers, oh no. The team is going all out with equal length tubes and six-in-one collectors on each side. These babies are going to give that V12 engine the sound it deserves. And let's not forget about those massive twin turbos that will be joining the party. It's a sight to behold, my friends.
But before they can install these glorious headers, they need to transform their plastic mockup tubes into metal. And let me tell you, it's no easy task. Each tube requires separate pie cuts, all clocked in different directions. It's a meticulous process, but when those tubes come together and the car is up and running, it's going to be a sight to behold. Just imagine those stainless headers turning that beautiful goldish bluish purplish color. It's going to be a feast for the eyes.
Now, the team has come up with a nifty solution to ensure precise cuts and proper alignment. They've created a jig, cut out on a plasma table, with different radius sizes. This allows them to mark the tubes accurately and cut them with precision. It's a game-changer, my friends. And let's not forget about the center line marking. They've cleverly used a piece of aluminum clamped to the table, creating a gap that allows them to scribe a line on the tube. It's a simple yet effective method that ensures their angles are spot on.
With the tubes all cut and marked, it's time to fit them together and see how they look. The team meticulously checks each tube, measuring and taping them together to ensure a proper fit. It's a painstaking process, but one that is necessary to achieve perfection. And let me tell you, when those tubes are all in place, it's a thing of beauty. They're almost there, my friends. Just a few more tubes to go, and this side of the headers will be complete.
But the work doesn't stop there, oh no. They've also installed a Porsche Motorsport power steering pump, which required a custom bracket. It's a top-notch unit that will provide excellent steering performance. And let's not forget about the other challenges they'll face, like designing the intake manifold and figuring out the intercooler setup. It's a never-ending process, my friends, but one that they tackle with enthusiasm and determination.
So, there you have it, folks. The DailyDrivenExotics team is making incredible progress on their F12 build. The headers are shaping up to be a work of art, and the power steering pump is in place. With each step forward, they're getting closer to their goal of creating a car that not only performs like a dream but looks like one too. Stay tuned for more updates, my friends, as this F12 build continues to captivate and inspire.
