In Larry Chen's latest masterpiece, a 1989 Toyota pickup undergoes a radical transformation into a custom-built marvel. This truck, with its origins shrouded in Canadian mystery, defies expectations by boasting a rust-free cab despite its storied past. Under the hood, the engine receives a power boost with Forge internals and a pint-sized Garrett g3660 turbo, adding a touch of spice to the ride. Hand engravings on the turbo showcase artisanal craftsmanship, elevating the truck's uniqueness.
The interior of this Toyota-turned-work-of-art resembles a spaceship, with custom touches like a meticulously crafted fuel cell and a complex hydraulic setup for those jaw-dropping body drops. Aptly named Tofu, the truck features hidden tofu symbols throughout, adding a playful yet sophisticated element to the design. The wheels, rare Opus 109s from Italy, have been lovingly restored and personalized with chrome finishes and custom center caps, paying homage to the truck's '90s roots.
When it comes to the truck's exterior, a fusion of Toyota 4Runner components and custom fabrication results in a striking front end that exudes a blend of aggression and finesse. The Curry Ford 9-inch rear end hints at potential tire-shredding burnouts, promising a wild ride ahead. The hydraulic system, with additional dampening cylinders for a smoother journey, showcases the meticulous attention to detail that defines this one-of-a-kind build. Larry Chen's creation is not just a truck; it's a testament to creativity, craftsmanship, and the relentless pursuit of automotive excellence.
