Ah, the Crusher Camaro, a true legend in the world of Hot Rods. Built back in '94 for the Power Tour, it's a piece of history with a sticker to prove it. From its humble beginnings with 40 cars to now 4,000, the Power Tour has grown, and the Crusher Camaro is set to attend the Power Tour West. But before that, it needs a streetable makeover. The car has seen various transformations over 30 years, from a standard street machine to a blown big block and even an LS7 swap.
The team dives into the nitty-gritty, starting with a torque converter replacement and a gear ratio change for better street performance. However, a roadblock appears with the axle spline size, slowing down the process. Flowmaster Mufflers are installed to give it that '90s vibe, but the focus shifts to reverting the car to its original 1994 look. Engine issues arise during upgrades, prompting changes to the intake manifold and ignition timing for optimal power.
The installation of a Holly 1,000 CFM HP carburetor and Mickey Thompson valve covers adds a touch of nostalgia to the Crusher Camaro. With a looming deadline for the Power Tour West, anxiety sets in as the team works on the rear suspension to achieve the perfect stance. A rear gear ratio change is necessary for highway driving, showcasing the dedication to making the Crusher Camaro not only a piece of history but a streetable powerhouse ready to hit the road.
