In a thrilling tale reminiscent of a Hollywood blockbuster, Doug DeMuro recounts his epic journey with the Toyota Sequoia from the sunny shores of California to the bustling streets of Massachusetts. Initially, the Sequoia impressed with its cutting-edge technology and powerful engine, but the quirky camo fender flares left him less than impressed. However, the return trip turned into a nail-biting adventure when a blown-out tire in the heart of East Tennessee threatened to derail his plans. With the car packed to the brim and his faithful companion Noodle by his side, Doug navigated the dangerous interstate to safety, showcasing quick thinking and nerves of steel.
Facing the daunting task of changing a tire on the side of a busy freeway, Doug wisely opted to seek professional help from AAA, highlighting the importance of safety on the road. Despite the setback, the full-sized spare tire proved to be a saving grace, allowing him to continue his cross-country odyssey to Memphis and back to San Diego, clocking an impressive 2,200 miles on the spare alone. However, driving without a functioning TPMS sensor posed its own set of challenges, adding an extra layer of complexity to an already eventful journey.
As if the tire mishap wasn't enough, Doug encountered further obstacles along the way, from losing the tow hitch cover in Texas to enduring a cracked windshield in Arizona. The maintenance light issue at 5,000 miles added another layer of frustration, prompting him to skip the service and address it later. Despite these trials and tribulations, the Toyota Sequoia emerged as a reliable companion, with Doug planning to tackle each issue head-on, ensuring the rugged SUV is back in top shape. While the Falcon tires may have faltered, the Sequoia's resilience and Doug's unwavering determination paint a picture of a true adventure on the open road.
