In this episode of B is for Build, the team dives headfirst into transforming a crashed Lamborghini Merci logo into a masterpiece. This particular Merci logo, acquired as the cheapest one in the world, underwent a complete overhaul with a custom-designed wide body kit. The process involved 3D printing parts, creating molds, and meticulously laying fiberglass to bring the design to life. However, challenges arose during the cleanup phase, requiring precise trimming, sanding, and application of body filler to achieve that perfect finish.
As the team tackled the project, they encountered setbacks with the primer coat, leading to a valuable lesson in using the right tools for the job. The addition of metal patch panels to the car door, in line with their cyberpunk theme, added a unique touch to the overall design. Delving into the realm of mirrors, various options were explored before settling on a futuristic solution involving cameras to address blind spots effectively. Alongside the car modifications, a sponsored segment featuring Fabletics clothing injected a touch of style and practicality into the mix.
Despite facing challenges with the primer application and having to rectify unexpected issues, such as filling extra holes, the team persevered with determination. With meticulous attention to detail, they prepared the body kit parts for seamless integration with the car through careful scuffing and marking. The bonding process marked a significant milestone in the project, as the body kit was securely attached to the car, setting the stage for the next phase of the transformation.
