The StanceWorks team finds themselves in a nail-biting situation at the World Time Attack Challenge in Australia. Their journey to the competition hasn't been smooth sailing, but they manage to pass scrutineering and hit the track for practice. However, their excitement is short-lived as they encounter both ups and downs.
On the upside, the legendary Keiichi Tsuchiya gives his stamp of approval to the 244 GTK. But on the downside, disaster strikes as their carbon fiber front splitter takes a beating and their Quaife sequential gearbox suffers extreme damage. The gearbox is jumping from second to third gear, and the team is unsure if it will hold up.
Undeterred by these setbacks, the team decides to face the challenge head-on. They arrive at City Motorsport Park early in the morning, ready to make the necessary fixes before the competition begins. They drain and clean the transmission fluid, ensuring it's at the recommended capacity. Additionally, they send out the damaged front splitter for overnight carbon repairs, thanks to the help of a local expert.
As the event gates open and the crowds gather, the team is determined to put on a show. The driver is motivated to be surrounded by some of the fastest time attack cars in the world, and they refuse to let transmission troubles stand in their way. However, their hopes are shattered when the gearbox fails during their first lap of competition. The car is effectively immobilized, and their weekend is over.
But just when it seems like all hope is lost, a glimmer of opportunity arises. Their pit neighbor informs them that there is another car at the event running the exact same gearbox they need - the Spoon Sports FK8 endurance Civic. A deal is struck, and they become the proud owners of a second Quaife sequential transmission.
Now faced with the daunting task of replacing the gearbox, the team doesn't back down. With the help of their friends and the incredible support of the Australian motorsports community, they begin the laborious process of pulling the engine and transmission. It's a race against time, but their determination and the generous assistance they receive make the impossible possible.
In this rollercoaster of emotions, the StanceWorks team showcases the resilience and camaraderie that defines the world of motorsports. Despite the setbacks and challenges, they refuse to give up on their dreams. With their sights set on victory, they prove that with passion, perseverance, and a little help from their friends, anything is possible in the world of racing.
