BMW has just unveiled the new G84 M3, and it's a beast in the making. What's got everyone talking is the option to choose between a fully electric drivetrain or a good old-fashioned 3L twin-turbo straight-6 petrol engine. This move shows BMW's commitment to embracing the future while also honoring its roots. The design of the upcoming M3 is a departure from its predecessor, featuring wider wheel arches, aggressive bumpers, and four massive tailpipes that scream performance.
Under the hood, the new M3 is expected to pack a punch with around 550 to 600 horsepower, possibly even more for the next generation. Thanks to a U-turn from the European Commission on emissions rules, BMW can continue with the iconic 3L straight-6 engine, now enhanced with a 48-volt mild hybrid system for improved efficiency. This means the M3 will not only be powerful but also more environmentally friendly, striking a balance between performance and sustainability.
But that's not all - BMW also showcased the Vision Driving Experience (VDX) prototype, hinting at the electric counterpart of the M3. With 1,300 horsepower from four electric motors and advanced aerodynamics, the VDX promises mind-blowing performance. While the production version may not match the VDX's power output, it's clear that BMW is pushing boundaries in the electric vehicle space. The future looks electrifying for the M3, offering enthusiasts the best of both worlds - raw power and eco-conscious engineering.
