In this episode of B is for Build, the guys take us on a wild ride through the cost breakdown of their SEMA build, a 1967 Mustang Fastback Shelby tribute. Now, this isn't just any old classic Mustang, oh no. Underneath that gorgeous exterior lies a 2019 Mustang GT with a whopping 460 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. It's a dream to drive, folks.

But let's talk numbers, shall we? The donor car, purchased from a salvage auction, set them back a cool $16,000. A bit steep for a salvage car, but hey, sometimes you gotta take what you can get. Then came the DinoCorn reproduction parts, which added another $11,000 to the bill. Now, these parts can vary in price depending on how close you want to stay to the stock look or if you want to go all out with a movie car style. But considering the exorbitant prices of original 1967 Mustang Fastbacks these days, it's a pretty good deal.

Of course, no build is complete without some custom work. The team dabbled in fiberglass pieces, steel work, and even 3D printing, which added around $300 to the total cost. They also splurged on some extra goodies like electric door lock poppers, adjustable suspension coilovers, and a custom exhaust, which set them back about $1,300. And let's not forget the body filler, paint, cold air intake, interior paneling, glass, and wheels and tires, which brought the grand total to a whopping $43,250.

Now, I know what you're thinking. That's a lot of money. And you'd be right. But when you consider the classic looks and timeless appeal of this Mustang, it starts to make sense. Sure, you could buy a new Mustang for around the same price, but where's the fun in that? This build is all about creating something unique, something that will turn heads and stand the test of time. And for that, I'd say it's worth every penny.
