Hoovies Garage recently acquired a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette, a car that has always been an American style icon. However, this particular Corvette ended up in the hands of an absolute idiot who thought it would be a good idea to do burnouts in a 60-year-old collector's car. Unsurprisingly, the car didn't take too kindly to this abuse and ended up breaking down. The transmission, drive shaft, and differential all suffered damage, leaving the Corvette in need of some serious repairs.
Luckily, the car was taken to the renowned Car Wizard, who wasted no time in inspecting the damage. It turns out that the teeth on the differential were completely sheared off, leaving the car unable to move. The transmission was also leaking, and there were various other issues such as leaky brakes and blown shocks. The Corvette was in need of a complete overhaul.
Despite the extensive repairs required, the owner of Hoovies Garage is still thrilled with his purchase. He managed to snag this Corvette for a steal at $45,000, and even with the cost of repairs factored in, he believes it's a great deal. The car may be old, but it's in mint condition cosmetically, with a flawless paint job and a beautiful Roman red color.
While the Corvette may not be the most practical car to drive, with no power steering or brakes, it still offers a unique driving experience. The owner is particularly enamored with the simple design and the beautiful gauges inside the car. And despite the challenges he faced with this particular Corvette, he remains optimistic about the future of the Corvette market, even as enthusiasm for these classic cars dwindles with each passing day.
In the end, the owner of Hoovies Garage is heading to the Barrett Jackson auction in New Orleans to see how his Corvette stacks up against others on the market. He may have blown up the car, but he's still excited to see if his $50,000 investment was truly a steal.
